Kristy Verenga age (10-150+ depending on the day) lived, worked and exhibited in New York City for 15 years before going to Barcelona in 1999 and to the midlands of Ireland in 2005. She now lives in Kinvara, County Galway by the sea. In New York, her studio was on the waterfront of Red Hook, Brooklyn where she worked in an old factory building facing the Hudson and East Rivers. It was grey and industrial with alot of falling down parts. In Kinvara, the limestone rocks of the Burren are out the front door and the sea is out the back and the wind hustles its way through every crack.
Color, Colour, Color...Intense, reSounding energy called color is her offering. The spices are texture and different media like digital images or plastic spoons. She meditates and teaches yoga and plays a bit of piano.
Her paintings are an extension of contemplation and deep listening.
